The 77th Independence Day of India was celebrated with traditional gaiety & patriotic fervour at the Embassy of India, Djibouti, as part of the ongoing celebrations of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. The programme included unfurling of the National Flag by Ambassador Mr. R.Chandramouli followed by the singing of the National Anthem. Ambassador read out Hon’ble President of India Smt. Droupadi Murmu’s address to the Nation delivered on the eve of the Independence Day.
On the occasion, members of the Indian Diaspora, and Members of Djibouti’s Indian Women Association (DIWA) recited poems and sang patriotic songs. Intiatives like Har ghar Tiranga and Meri Maati mera Desh were highlighted during the program.
Over 100 members of the Indian Diaspora, Mission officials, their families, and friends of India attended the event.
