Q: Can you tell us a bit about your background and how you came to start KAALS?
A: Sure, I am a Merchant Navy officer and I have always had a love for animals, specifically dogs. One day, I came across a stray puppy on the side of the road and decided to take him in as my own. However, my family was not too comfortable with the idea of having a pet in the house, so I had to make a decision to either leave the puppy or leave my home. I chose to adopt the puppy and that decision led me on a new journey in my life.
Q: Can you tell us more about the inspiration behind starting KAALS?
A: As I was taking care of my new puppy, I realized that the cost of pet products in the market was quite expensive, especially for middle class families. I wanted to make pet ownership more accessible to people by offering affordable pet accessories. That’s how KAALS was born.
Q: Can you tell us about the range of products offered by KAALS?
A: We offer a wide range of products for dogs, including leashes, hoodies, harnesses, belts and more. We also have plans to expand our product line to include pet food, supplements, and medicines. Additionally, we offer automatic pet feeding gadgets and other pet accessories.
Q: How do you manage to run your business while working as a Merchant Navy officer?
A: The beauty of online businesses is that you don’t have to be physically present at the principal place of business. I am able to run KAALS from anywhere in the world, including when I am out at sea.
Q: Can you tell us about the unique aspect of KAALS, the aspect of giving back to stray dogs?
A: Yes, what sets KAALS apart is that we donate 50% of our profits to the welfare and wellbeing of stray dogs. This includes providing food, shelter, and medical care for stray dogs.
Q: What are your future plans for KAALS?
A: Our goal is to become one of the leading pet accessories brands by 2024 and continue to make pet ownership more accessible to people. Additionally, we hope to expand our reach to more countries and continue to give back to stray dogs in need.
Q: Do you have any message for the youth who want to become entrepreneurs?
A: My message to the youth is to never give up on your passion. Starting a business may seem daunting, but with hard work and determination, anything is possible. And always remember to give back to the community and make a positive impact in the world.
